Since the beginning of this year, the Binzhou Beihai Economic Development Zone has aligned closely with the development needs of Binzhou’s chemical industry. Leveraging its strategic location and industrial advantages, the zone has actively promoted the accelerated commissioning of the largest chemical storage and logistics center in the Bohai Rim region, effectively filling the gap in Binzhou’s large-scale public chemical warehousing and logistics services and advancing the integrated development of manufacturing and logistics.
As Binzhou’s second-largest pillar industry, the chemical sector generates nearly RMB 240 billion in output value, with over 210 large-scale enterprises and more than 200 product categories. However, insufficient storage and transportation capacity has long constrained industry growth. Addressing this challenge, the Beihai Economic Development Zone has leveraged the advantages of the Binzhou Port-based Chemical Industrial Park by introducing the HRX Chemical New Materials Logistics Center Project, strengthening industrial support and enhancing supply chain capacity.
The project features a large storage and turnover capacity and is currently the largest chemical storage and transportation center in the Bohai Rim region. It includes 58 storage tanks, with a single-cycle storage capacity of 42,000 cubic meters and an annual throughput of up to 950,000 tons, providing integrated supply chain services for 53 types of liquid chemical products. With a high level of automation, the facility operates with only 15 on-site personnel, reflecting advanced intelligence and operational efficiency. Economically, the project demonstrates strong performance under a typical “two ends abroad” model, engaging in global procurement and sales with partners in over 20 countries, achieving annual imports of RMB 12 billion and exports of RMB 13 billion.
Upon completion, the project fills the gap in Binzhou’s large-scale public chemical logistics infrastructure, meeting the growing warehousing and logistics demands of Binzhou and surrounding regions. It provides enterprises with safe, professional, efficient, and green one-stop chemical storage and transportation services, supporting high-quality industrial development and the construction of Quality Binzhou.
